You can access our extensive range of dedicated support services.
It’s why our students tell us we are one of the friendliest universities in Australia.
UNSW’s Careers and Employment
Our dedicated Careers and Employment team help students gain employment and work experience, as well as develop a career plan. At any time during your degree, you can attend free seminars, access online resources or book a one-on-one appointment with a careers consultant.
International Student Experience Unit (ISEU)
Our International Student Experience Unit (ISEU) team will help you adapt to life in Australia. They hold regular events and activities including day trips, short holidays and community exchange programs. Advisors are available for personalised advice and information about life at UNSW. They will be your first point of contact on campus.
We will arrange for you to be picked up from the airport, to attend new arrival workshops and to go on campus tours so you will quickly feel oriented, safe and connected. At our Welcome Centre, you’ll find everything you need to help you settle in.
We can match you with a peer mentor, who is an experienced student with insights about your faculty as well as tips on how to adjust to student life. Or you might prefer a cultural mentor, a senior UNSW student from the same cultural background as you, who can answer questions about Australian culture and customs, studying at UNSW and living in Sydney.
As a UNSW student, you will get access to free online resources, academic skills workshops, individual consultations with peer writing assistants, exam preparation tips and much more. Discover more
You can take a professional development program to help you prepare for the workplace. It includes a three-day seminar covering topics such as business communication, employer expectations and recruitment processes. Students are also offered a 50-hour internship in offices around UNSW.
Held twice a year, our Careers Expos are a chance for students to meet and discuss potential employment and internship opportunities with over 100 participating employers.
