Looking down from her paraglider high above the French Alps, Nadae Cherradi, 22, was dismayed at how resort development had despoiled the once-idyllic mountain villages. She resolved to work toward harmonising the construction of modern facilities with environmental protection. A short while later, Nadae had traded her weekends of paragliding for early morning runs along Coogee beach close to UNSW as she undertakes a Master of Environmental Management degree at UNSW.
Nadae chose UNSW as it is a world leader in environmental teaching and research. She is pleased that her “degree takes a multi-disciplinary approach to environmental issues, covering environmental science, ecology, engineering, economics, management as well as climate law and policy.” An elective in international advocacy enables Nadae to work toward her goal of promoting better environmental policies worldwide. Fluent in four languages, she believes her studies at UNSW will prepare her for her work on the international stage.
