People say that studying abroad in a different country is a lifetime experience, but for me, it was more. Living seven walking minutes away from Coogee beach, I took advantage of all the beautiful outdoor activities that Sydney had to offer. Not many people can head up to Bondi for a surfing lesson and make it back in time for an afternoon lecture.

I came back from UNSW with a new interest and changed my major to economics. My economic and law lecturers were phenomenal and their courses enabled me to learn about subjects that I normally wouldn't have gotten the chance to take back home. I know that the friends I made at UNSW will remain lifelong friends and some have already even come to visit.

Applying for exchange was perhaps one of the best decisions I made in college. While living in a laid back lifestyle and having great weather virtually everyday was awesome, I am grateful for the opportunities that I had for traveling. I've developed a newfound respect and love for the outdoors and nature. I tell my friends everyday that I would go back to Sydney in a heartbeat.
