Domestic and International students enrolled at National and International Universities can visit UNSW to conduct short-term research as part of their research program. Whilst conducting research at UNSW, visiting candidates have access to an appropriate supervisor, services, library, campus amenities and liability insurance whilst on UNSW premises. Guidelines and application procedures differ for domestic and international students.
If you are an international research student from an overseas university, and you wish to come to UNSW to obtain research experience, you can do so through our Practicum Exchange or International visiting research student programs. These programs are for a limited period (to a maximum of 12 months) and may be a formal requirement for the award of a degree at your home university. To be eligible to apply, you need to be a graduate with a strong GPA in your undergraduate studies.
If you are enrolled at a partner institution you may be eligible to enrolled through the Practicum Exchange Program and tuition fees will be waived.
If you are from a non-partner institution you can consider enrolling as an International Visiting Research Student on a fee-paying basis to undertake research at UNSW for 6 to 12 months.
Only candidates enrolled at an Australian University are eligible for consideration. Domestic students should contact the Research Office for further details about the procedure.
