UNSW's main walkway

Domestic and International students enrolled at National and International Universities can visit UNSW to conduct short-term research as part of their research program. Whilst conducting research at UNSW, visiting candidates have access to an appropriate supervisor, services, library, campus amenities and liability insurance whilst on UNSW premises. Guidelines and application procedures differ for domestic and international students.

International Research Students

International research students can gain research experience through our Professional Practicum Program. This program is designed for students from overseas universities who wish to come to UNSW to obtain research experience or professional/ industrial practice. This Practicum is for a limited period (to a maximum of 12 months) and may be a formal requirement for the award of a degree at the student's home university.

If you are enrolled at partner institutions tuition you will be enrolled through the Professional Exchange Practicum Program and tuition fees are waived. For students from non partner institutions we are currently developing an alternative program.  This program will be fee based and if you would be interested in registering for the waiting list to be informed once this becomes available contact practicum@unsw.edu.au

Domestic Research Students

Only candidates enrolled at an Australian University are eligible for consideration. Domestic students should contact the Research Office for further details about the procedure.
