Compulsory Medical Insurance
All international students except those with Swedish and Norwegian citizenship are required to obtain medical insurance, organised by the Global Education Office. Swedish and Norwegian students are automatically covered under a reciprocal country agreement.The cost through Medibank in 2012 is A$200 for one semester, or A$480 for twelve months.
Laboratory loading
An additional A$250 fee is applied to each course with a substantial laboratory component. Students taking certain lab classes must purchase the required protective items such as safety glasses, boots, clothing etc which is approximately A$100.
