Download the application form, print and complete with your personal details and study preferences. Your application needs to be accompanied by your academic transcript. If your original documents are not in English, you will need to provide certified translations of your transcripts. There is no application fee.
You will need to nominate on your application form the courses that you would like to study at UNSW. Search the UNSW Online Handbook and UNSW Online Timetable to choose these courses. On receipt of your application, we will forward your transcript to the relevant faculty to assess whether you have the necessary academic background to enrol in these courses, and to obtain approval for your enrolment.
You are not locked into this selection of courses at this early stage. Nominating courses that are being offered in the semester you will be studying will significantly reduce the processing time of your application. If your nominated courses are not available in the semester of your study, you will be able to amend your choices up until the end of Week 1 of semester. You will receive email confirmation of receipt of your application within three weeks of submitting your application.
Application deadlines
Deadlines apply at least five weeks before the start of semester to allow time for administration and student visa processing. You will also need to organise flights and accommodation. Students from countries classified as Assessment Levels 2 - 4 will need to apply earlier to allow for more time for visa processing. Visa processing for students from Assessment Level 4 countries can take up to six months.
What happens next?
If your application is successful, you will receive an offer letter with detailed instructions on how to accept your offer. In order to accept your offer, you must return the signed acceptance form that accompanies the letter of offer. Once your acceptance has been received, you will be issued with a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE). You need the CoE to apply for a Student Visa. Applicants who accept their offer will also receive a pre-departure package with detailed information about obtaining a student visa, organising accommodation, making tuition fee payments, requesting an airport pick-up, organising a local mobile phone, and other helpful information to help prepare you for your studies abroad.
