Most activities on campus are run by two organisations: Arc@UNSW and UNSW Sport and Recreation.

In addition, Student Development International offers activities and programs to help international students adapt to life in Australia. These activities include day trips and short holidays and community exchange programs

Arc@UNSW is the university student organisation. Arc@UNSW is committed to making student life more interesting, more fun, more rewarding and more affordable. It strives to provide everything you need outside the lecture theatre.

UNSW Sport and Recreation

UNSW Sport and Recreation administers the university’s sporting facilities on and off campus.

Facilities that UNSW Sport and Recreation provide
Fitness and Aquatic CentreLocated near the corner of High Street and Anzac Parade on the northern side of lower campus, the centre features a 50-metre indoor swimming pool, a steam room, a gymnasium, a fitness studio, a cycling studio, a personal training studio, squash courts, a sports hall, childminding facilities and a café.
Court hireCourts for tennis, squash, badminton, basketball and indoor soccer are available for casual bookings.
Village Green and Sam Cracknell PavillionThe Village Green is the major recreational field on campus, and is located on the southern side of lower campus. Adjacent to it is the Sam Cracknell Pavilion which contains changerooms and a clubroom. The clubroom is available for hire.
David Phillips SportsfieldsLocated four kilometres south of the university campus, this sporting complex consists of two ovals, one football field, a clubhouse with change rooms, a function room, a bar/servery area and a grandstand.
UNSW boatshedLocated across town at Gladesville on the Parramatta River, the boatshed is the home of the UNSW Rowing Club. The facility features a new clubhouse, boat storage, a function room with adjoining deck. The function room is available for hire.

In addition, the association organises a range of sporting and recreational activities, from dance to martial arts, from marathons to fitness and wellbeing courses.
