Global Students Expo 09

Are you interested in studying overseas? Did you know that there are Exchange and Global Education options available at over 190 UNSW partner universities around the world?

Exchange is a great opportunity to study overseas at one of our prestigious partner universities, experience the culture of that country, and to make lifetime connections with students you meet.

You continue to pay your normal UNSW tuition fees while on exchange and best of all your overseas study is credited back to your UNSW degree. It is both time and cost effective!

Not only will you have the time of your life, but you will also gain a competitive edge in the employment market by demonstrating your self motivation, international viewpoint and skills.

Come along to the GLOBAL STUDENTS EXPO to find out more!

Date:  Wednesday 18 March 2009
Time: 11.00am - 4.00pm
Where: Scientia Building, Gallery Rooms 1 & 2
  • Talk to representatives from our partner universities
  • Chat to returned exchange students about their overseas experiences
  • Meet exchange students at UNSW and get local knowledge on their university

Aussie Mate Program

Exchange Orientation Week

Having 150 Exchange Students (from all over the globe), matched up with 150 Aussie Mates was always going to be a fun event and here's how the week went.

Tudesday - Campus Tour!
After having a little "orientation talk" from Anna (yes Anna... we heard ALL about it J), all our Exchange Students and Aussie Mates met up on the Naked Lady Lawn for a big picnic.

After everyone was done with the "all you can eat, Sandwich buffet", we split up into our groups and headed off on the campus tour. This tour covered the whole Main Campus and included a bunch of tricky questions (which must have been selected by a genius or two). The "Red Team" ended up being the first to complete the questions and arrive back at the Red Centre to receive their prize!

Wednesday - Bronte to Bondi Walk!
Once again, our Exchange Students had their "orientation talk" (which lived up to its reputation from the previous day) and then met with their Aussie Mates to catch a bus down to Bronte. Once at Bronte we walked along Sydney's beautiful East Coast to Bondi. We were actually lucky enough to come across a tall, blonde haired lifeguard at Bondi who not only explained all the rules of Sydney's Beach's (Flags, rips and bluebottles) but also warned everyone of Australia's notorious "Drop Bears".

Thrown into orientation week we also had a few "unofficial activities", such as the Doncaster Hotel, Bundeena National Park, Manly Beach and Sydney's world famous Mardi Gras.

All over, it was an enjoyable week and I'd like to thank the Exchange Office, Chief Aussie Mates, Aussie Mates and Exchange Students for all making it such a great time.
