English language courses

Enhance your English language skills and your career prospects.

The UNSW Institute of Languages offers courses and programs designed to help you reach the English language entry requirements at UNSW. Different options are available depending on your current English language level.

The University English Entry Course (UEEC)

This course is for students who have received a conditional offer from UNSW but do not meet UNSW’s English language entry requirements. The course is offered over 10, 15 or 20 weeks. Approximately 90% of students pass the course and progress directly into their chosen degrees without needing to retake an English language test (e.g. IELTS).

Foundation English Entry Course (FEEC)

This course is designed to assist you in developing the English language skills required to successfully complete a UNSW Foundation Studies course. On completion, you progress directly into your Foundation Studies course without having to retake an IELTS or similar language test. Approximately 90% of students who take this course successfully go on to the Foundation Studies course.

The Tertiary Orientation Program (TOP)

This is a 5-week English course for students who have received a full offer from UNSW but who wish to further develop their English language skills to maximise their success in their academic studies at UNSW.
