WHAT'S ON IN SYDNEY!!

 FREE EVENTS IN SYDNEY

Paddy's Markets
Paddy's Markets are Sydney's biggest market in the city. It's more mainstream in that the stalls stock new items, albeit cheap or discounted because of the lower overheads incurred as a result of having a temporary shop front. Some retailers use the markets to extend their reach to consumers and others to sell overstocked items at a discount. The very fresh fruit and veg is plentiful and at excellent prices making the markets worth a visit on a regular basis if your staying for a while.

Open: 10am to 6pm on Thursday and from 9am to 4pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Location: They are situated under Market City on the corner of Hay & Thomas Streets.

The Rocks Markets
The Rocks Markets are mainly trade in good quality crafts, homewares, arts and collectibles. The setting is magnificent and the pubs are good for a snack and a beer or if your looking for something more substantial, try one of the many first class restaurants nearby.

Open: Saturday and Sunday, every weekend from 10am to 5pm
Location: The Rocks markets are a short stroll north from Circular Quay railway station along George Street.

Glebe Markets
Glebe Markets are the traditional alternative markets. Pre-loved clothing, arts, crafts and edible goodies are abundant. There is a good grassy area to let the kids loose in or it makes a good spot for a picnic. You'll find some pretty neat second-hand goods here and some not so neat.

Open:  Every Saturday, 10am to 4pm.
Location: The best way to get there is to get the 431, 432, 433 or 434 bus to Glebe Point Road in Glebe or, if your feeling extra energetic, the walk from Central railway station will take around 30 minutes.

Bondi Beach Markets
Bondi Beach Markets  have got the spot. If your looking to fill your day by going to the markets but don't actually want to spend the whole day at the markets, then Bondi is for you. Similar to Glebe in size and content, these markets have a good selection of pre-loved clothing and second-hand goods from electricals to hardware. When you've finished browsing retire to the beach or one of Bondi's many al fresco eateries.

Open: Every Sunday from 10am to 4pm
Location: At Bondi Beach Public School Grounds on Campbell Parade. The best way to get there is to catch the 380 or 382 bus either from the city or Bondi Junction railway station down to Bondi Beach.

Sydney Fish Markets
Sydney Fish Markets are a permanent market at Blackwattle Bay. The markets are an awesome spectacle. The 65 tonnes of fresh catch that passes through these markets daily is filtered out to the restaurants, suburban retailers and households from the early hours of each weekday morning. You can feast on fresh seafood until you wish that you never see another prawn again.

Open: Daily from to 4pm (except Christmas Day).
Location: They are situated on the corner of Pyrmont Bridge Road & Bank Streets, Pyrmont. The best way to get to the markets is by Light Rail. Alternatively the 443 bus from the Queen Victoria Building will also get you there.
