ABOUT SDI
Student Development International (SDI) helps students from overseas adjust to living in Sydney and studying at UNSW. In addition to providing personalised advice and support, Student Development International (SDI)) promotes understanding between people from different cultures through a wide range of educational, social and recreational activities.
Advisers at SDI understand what it is like to be away from home and studying in a foreign country. They are experienced in helping students and have special knowledge of issues affecting international students.

- Airport reception and temporary accommodation booking service

- UniBuddies Peer Mentoring support for new students

- Individual confidential assistance on personal well-being and academic matters
- Information on practical matters related to study, immigration, employment and finances
- Day trips and shorts holidays
- Social and cultural activities
- Community exchange and support programs such as Australian Hospitality, International Speakers and Volunteering activities
- Regular ISNews online bulletins
- SDI e-SERVICES includes:
- Student lounge with free internet access and group meeting facility
- Advocacy on behalf of students and representation of international students' concerns, both on and off campus
- Referral to other specialist services/resources
- Support services for AusAID sponsored students
- Returning home seminars, career workshops and Valedictory function
